About the project
BEE was hired to manage the sustainability strategy of Interface’s new offices in both Shanghai and Beijing. The green building projects have incorporated an array of innovative technologies focused on maximizing the health and wellbeing of the occupants inside the green building space. The project comes complete with an intelligent building-monitoring platform connected to a sophisticated air filtration system that significantly reduces the PM2.5, CO2, and VOC levels to international health standards.
In addition to the intelligent building system, the projects have also installed an ultra-low VOC flooring system with 80% recycled material and have incorporated an efficient lighting system that not only reduces the lighting power density (LPD) by 35%, but also maintains the lighting performance necessary to showcase their sustainable carpets. The new Beijing and Shanghai Offices have achieved both LEEDv2009 Gold CI and Full RESET Certifications.
